Meet Jeremie

Jeremie Thompson was appointed to the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors in August 2022. Serving previously as Chair of the Planning Commission, Jeremie has collaborated with board members, planning commission members, regional partners, staff, and residents on the re-write of the Zoning and Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance, the adoption of the Tree Preservation Ordinance, as well as many transportation improvements and housing affordability matters. Jeremie has also served as Township Representative to the Centre Regional Planning Commission. 

Since becoming Supervisor, Jeremie along with the Board of Supervisors has adopted many proclamations recognizing diversity, equity, and inclusion events; adopted an Anti-Discrimination Ordinance and the establishment of a Regional Human Relations Commission; collaborated with the State College Borough and C-NET to help expand cable and broadband options for residents; as well as many other accomplishments.

Outside of his position as Supervisor, Jeremie is currently a Human Resources Associate at Penn State University. In addition, Jeremie is also a freelance Merchandiser for Winston Retail Solutions providing field merchandising services for many retail clients. Previously, Jeremie worked extensively in customer service and retail.

Jeremie grew up on his family farm, just outside of Brookville, PA. He is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a degree in Labor and Employment Relations, becoming the first in his family to attend college. In his spare time, Jeremie is a Certified National Weather Service Skywarn Spotter, likes spending time outdoors, and enjoys traveling on Amtrak. Jeremie and his wife Kara are residents of the Teaberry neighborhood and have resided in Ferguson Township for the past 10 years. In addition, Jeremie and Kara are proud owners of their adopted shelter cat Della.
